"When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with yourself."
Tecumseh, Shawnee Chief
~Attitude~
| When you extend pure
love to everyone with selfless motivation that is an attitude of kindness. When you send good wishes and pure feelings to those who are in deep sorrow, that is an attitude of mercy. When you see the virtues rather than the weaknesses in people that is an attitude of compassion. When you bless and uplift someone even as they defame you, that is an attitude of forgiveness. When you tolerate a situation and take responsibility as well as give cooperation even when not appreciated, that is an attitude of humility and self-respect. Every second, every moment and every breath of your life is nurtured by attitude.

''To give it all is to receive it
all''
To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty,
to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch
or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed
easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

A New View
A friend shared this moment of awakening. She was moaning, "I never get anything done." Her companion replied, "Perhaps you never get EVERYTHING done." Oh.... of course!
A shift in perspective can bring both understanding and release. "Besides learning to see, there is another art to be learned -- not to see what is not."

To live a creative life we must lose our fear of being wrong
Joseph Chilton Pearce
"Whenever news comes that seems
bad, consider this. Would The Universe give you a questionable gift? Do not be
misled by the wrapping on the box, but open it with trust. And if you still do
not understand the meaning of the gift, be still and wait. The Universe does not
give questionable gifts. Often you will not know this meaning of the gift until
the gift is put to work in your life. That can be frustrating, but it is
inevitable. The gifts of The Universe do not feed your ego expectations. Their
value is of a higher order. They help you open to your true nature and purpose
here. Sometimes they seem to close a door and you don't understand
why. Only when the right door opens do you understand why the wrong door was
closed."
Paul Ferrini
When a problem becomes an opportunity.........
How is a problem in your life really an opportunity? Problems invite us to go inside to recognize a bigger picture of ourselves and of life. This bigger picture brings meaning to what is unfolding. When you feel trapped in a problem, see if you can shift your perspective. Ask yourself, "What is my soul inviting me to learn from this situation?" The answer will always revolve around a quality or value, like gratitude, freedom, compassion, love, will, humour or acceptance. The answer will also always promote union rather than separation.
As soon as we find the meaning in our challenge, our resistance to it melts away. Often, awareness of the lesson is all that is needed to resolve the problem. If not, the awareness brings us courage and ways to work through it.
"The period of greatest gain in knowledge and experience is the most difficult period in one's life."
-- Dalai Lama
